Josie, what diets have you tried in the past?

‘Every diet on the planet! While the majority work to a degree, they’re not maintainable, and some are actually quite unhealthy. I hate faddy diets with a passion. They make you miserable, you nearly always put the weight back on and they’re not good for your mental outlook on food.’

You’ve recently lost weight using Muscle Food’s Do The Unthinkable Plan. How much have you lost so far?

‘I’ve lost about 31lbs in 12 weeks, so that’s just over two stone. I was a size 18 before, and some size 18 clothes were a squeeze to get into as well. I’m a size 12 on top and 14 on bottom now.’

What was life like before the diet?

‘Because I was overweight I felt slow, groggy and tired all the time, which is not great when you’ve got a baby to look after! Upon starting the diet I noticed within the first week that I was much more energetic – plus it felt easy because I wasn’t ever hungry. My ex, Terry, started noticing my shape changing about a month in.’

How did the plan work around your son?

‘It really saved me, especially because Reggie only sleeps for a couple of hours at a time. Having everything all prepared and ready was amazing. It’s all real, healthy food, too, with no processed, unnatural ingredients at all. We all know how to eat healthily, but I’d gone off the rails – I couldn’t even trust myself in the supermarket! I was always saying, “I’ll start again tomorrow” – and tomorrow never came. I needed this plan to reset myself.’

How does the exercise regime work with the plan?

‘In phase one you work out three times a week, moving up to four times a week during phases two and three. Each session lasts around 30 minutes and has been structured with intensity increasing and rest time decreasing as the programme is followed. You’re also able to chat with the Do The Unthinkable team whenever you need to, take part in weekly group workouts and take three fitness tests to track your progress throughout the programme.’

How have you celebrated your loss?

‘As I’m still losing weight I haven’t gone mad buying lots of clothes – not yet at least. I’ve bought a few bits and bobs but ordered off cheap sites. I wore a dress to the NTAs that cost £11.99! I don’t want to spend money on clothes at the moment as I’ve got a whole room stacked with clothes in all different sizes. I’m just happy to be able to wear size 12 outfits again!’

So no treats whatsoever?

‘Every time I lost six pounds I did buy something like a pair of trainers or some new earrings – and when I’d lost 20lbs I booked a spa day with the girls. If you can’t be good to yourself who can you be good to?’

Would you say it’s been easier or harder to lose weight since having Reggie?

‘Definitely harder. Before having a baby, I could train whenever I wanted, but now it’s such a palaver! I’ve either got to wait till Reggie’s asleep or he’s happy playing in his Jumperoo. You can guarantee that in the middle of the workout he’ll start crying though, so I have to stop so I can be his personal entertainer. He comes first at the end of the day!’

Do you ever go to the gym?

‘If I try and get out of the house to train at the gym, I’ve got to get Reggie all packed up and arrange childcare, which is such a pain. That’s why Do The Unthinkable is so amazing – you just pop the DVD on and the sessions only last 30 minutes a day. I must admit that I haven’t trained as much as I’d like to though – the majority of my weight loss has been through the food.’
