<p>It’s alarming what statistics reveal when it comes to how important the internet is to us, says research from <a href="https://www.zen.co.uk/">Zen Internet</a> and <a href="https://censuswide.com/">Censuswide</a>.</p>

<div style="height:50px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<p>We’re increasingly putting WiFi above everyday essentials. That’s right – we said basic essentials. Ready to be shocked?</p>

<p>For a start, more than a third of us would rather go without hot water for a week than lose internet access, with 34% saying they’d sacrifice their fridge! What’s more, 47% would go without their cooking appliances. And, even in the depths of winter, 32% would choose to be without heating before going offline.</p>

<p>The study of 2,000 UK adults highlights how the internet has moved beyond entertainment, to become one of the most relied-upon household services in the UK. Even traditional TV ranks below internet access. Over half of&nbsp;Brits&nbsp;(54%) say they would rather lose terrestrial TV for a week than the internet.</p>

<p>“This isn’t just about streaming and scrolling,” says Zen Internet’s Stephen Warburton. “The internet now underpins how we work, access money, manage our homes and stay connected to the people who matter. When people say they’d rather lose heating or hot water than go offline, it shows just how critical reliable connectivity has become. When something becomes this embedded in daily life, reliability stops being a luxury and becomes an expectation.”</p>

<div style="height:30px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/2-1024x576.png" alt="" class="wp-image-39861" srcset="https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/2-1024x576.png 1024w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/2-300x169.png 300w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/2-768x432.png 768w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/2-1536x864.png 1536w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/2-390x220.png 390w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/2.png 2000w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Does age matter?</h2>

<p>In a word, yes. Almost half (45%) of 18 to 24-year-olds say they would struggle to go without internet access beyond 12 hours, while only 12% think they could cope for a full week. What’s more, almost two in five Gen Z (that’s those born&nbsp;between 1997-2012), and Millennials (born between 1981-1996) say they would rather lose their heating in colder months for a week. That’s compared to just 24% of Baby Boomers – those born between 1<em>946 to 1964</em>. Similarly, 42% of Millennials say they would rather lose hot water for a week, compared to 30% of Baby Boomers.</p>

<div style="height:30px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Does stress matter?</h2>

<p>In another word, yes. Losing internet access is now considered more stressful than sitting in traffic. Around 46% of&nbsp;Brits&nbsp;ranking 24 hours offline above being stuck in a jam (38%). Thirty-five per cent say losing access to online banking is worse. Forty-four per cent believe forgetting your phone is more stressful than losing credit cards and cash. And not having access to WhatsApp or text messages is considered more stressful than having no access to emails.</p>

<p>We just hope you’re reading this and aren’t sitting in a cold bath with no fridge to keep your food fresh…</p>

<p>Air fryers get a lot of hype. For food reason. Everyone enjoys a little bit of crunch in their fried food, and air fryers allow people to reduce the amount of oil they use.</p>

<p>To celebrate their functionality, here are some amazing air fryer recipes that are sure to bring smiles to your dining table. Keep in mind that all air fryers are different, so <a href="https://www.checklists.co.uk/category/eat/food/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">some recipes</a> may need to be slightly altered to work properly.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Air fryer mini banana pancake dippers</h2>

<p>Pancakes are almost always a crowd pleaser for the whole family. While they probably aren’t the healthiest breakfast option, they are a nice treat every once in a while. What’s great about pancakes is that you can top them with anything you want.</p>

<p>This <a href="https://www.delish.com/uk/cooking/recipes/a29245017/banana-pancake-dippers-recipe/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">banana pancake recipe</a> opts for a ‘stuffed pancake dipper’, which can be dipped in melted chocolate, Nutella or maple syrup. To make the recipe easier, you can use a <a href="https://www.checklists.co.uk/eat/food/enjoy-the-perfect-protein-packed-stack-this-pancake-day/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">pre-made pancake mix</a> instead of making batter from scratch. Just make sure to mix yours to a thicker consistency than normal pancake batter.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Air fryer personal pizzas</h2>

<p>If you’re in a pinch and need a definite crowd pleaser, you can’t go wrong with pizza. What’s great about <a href="https://www.liveeatlearn.com/air-fryer-pizza/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">this recipe</a> is that it makes perfect, personal-sized pizzas. That means that every member of your family can top their pizza to their own liking.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img decoding="async" width="1000" height="667" src="https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/tamas-pap-XLmhRnV8yuc-unsplashSIZED.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-33484" srcset="https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/tamas-pap-XLmhRnV8yuc-unsplashSIZED.jpg 1000w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/tamas-pap-XLmhRnV8yuc-unsplashSIZED-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/tamas-pap-XLmhRnV8yuc-unsplashSIZED-768x512.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">Photo by <a href="https://unsplash.com/@tamasp" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener sponsored nofollow">Tamas Pap</a> on <a href="https://unsplash.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener sponsored nofollow">Unsplash</a>.</figcaption></figure>

<p>While assembling your pizza in the air fryer can be a bit tricky, the reward of crispy dough and oozing cheese is incomparable to oven-baked pizza, which can be finnicky, unless you have a dedicated pizza oven. Just make sure to cook the dough on its own in the air fryer first, and you’ll be amazed by the final result.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Air fryer pork belly bites</h2>

<p>Pork belly is one of the most delicious pieces of meat you can get your hands on. It’s made from the same part of the pig as bacon, but it’s thicker. It’s best served as crispy as you can get it, so air fryers are naturally one of the best ways to cook it. Also, because pork belly has so much natural fat, you arguably don’t have to use any oil.</p>

<p>While this <a href="https://iamhomesteader.com/pork-belly-bites/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">pork belly bite recipe</a> includes oil, I’ve seen other recipes that omit oil. With the calorie savings from less oil, you can afford to make yourself a sauce for the bites once they’re done. There are <a href="https://www.acouplecooks.com/sauces/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">many sauces</a> that would complement pork belly, but a few of the best options would be chipotle sauce, ponzu sauce and honey garlic sauce.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Air fryer tahini black bean fritters</h2>

<p>Swinging the pendulum back over to the healthy side, why not try some vegan fritters that are packed with protein and veggie goodness? Not only are they healthy, they’re also delicious, with flavours like miso, garlic, tahini and white wine vinegar.</p>

<p>What’s great about these <a href="https://www.delish.com/cooking/recipe-ideas/a39801308/air-fryer-black-bean-fritters-recipe/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">tahini black bean fritters</a> is that they can be served in a bun like a burger, in a pita, or on their own with sauce drizzled overtop. Have these for breakfast, lunch, or dinner and enjoy the healthy invigoration.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Air fryer steak and chips</h2>

<p>Getting your steak cooked just the way you like it every time can be a bit tricky, especially for less confident cooks. Air fryers can help you take the guesswork out of cooking steak. <a href="https://lovefoodnotcooking.com/recipes/air-fryer-steak/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">This recipe</a> can help you with a good starting point, and with the rest of the steps along the way. Once you figure out which temperature and time works best for your air fryer, you can simply use the same setting every time.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img decoding="async" width="1000" height="667" src="https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/tim-toomey-pe9dvM1rQkM-unsplashSIZED.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-33487" srcset="https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/tim-toomey-pe9dvM1rQkM-unsplashSIZED.jpg 1000w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/tim-toomey-pe9dvM1rQkM-unsplashSIZED-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/tim-toomey-pe9dvM1rQkM-unsplashSIZED-768x512.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">Photo by <a href="https://unsplash.com/@covertnine" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener sponsored nofollow">Tim Toomey</a> on <a href="https://unsplash.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener sponsored nofollow">Unsplash</a>.</figcaption></figure>

<p>If you have a dual-tray air fryer, you can also fry some chips to go with your steak. <a href="https://lianaskitchen.co.uk/air-fryer-chips/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">This recipe</a> can take around 35 minutes. Start before you cook your steak, perhaps while your steak is warming up to room temperature. Just remember to check and shake the chips regularly to ensure that all of them get nice and crispy.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Air fryer potato kievs</h2>

<p>While many people have tried chicken kievs before, don’t underestimate potato kievs. They pack delicate, buttery, and cheesy goodness into every bite, and your family will love you for it. However, because they’re packed with butter and cheese, you probably shouldn’t have them every night – though you will want to.</p>

<p>While <a href="https://www.taste.com.au/recipes/air-fryer-potato-kiev-recipe/fywla563" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">this recipe</a> calls for garlic butter as the stuffing, there are endless combinations you could try. One enticing option is stuffing your kiev with basil pesto.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Air fryer salmon</h2>

<p>Salmon is packed with, protein, vitamins and minerals, as well as omega-3 fatty acids. Fatty fish, like salmon, are part of a balanced diet. But many people prefer the taste of chicken or red meat to salmon, so sadly most people don’t get enough of the nutrients that salmon provides.</p>

<p>However, this <a href="https://www.skinnytaste.com/air-fryer-salmon-with-maple-soy-glaze/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">maple soy salmon recipe</a> is here to change your mind about salmon. Get ready for a taste-bud adventure, and enjoy it in under 10 minutes of cooking time. With just four ingredients, it’s hard to imagine a meal that’s easier and healthier. You can also use any excess maple soy glaze as a sauce to cook your side vegetables in.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Air fryer beef and broccoli</h2>

<p>Who said Chinese takeaway needs to come from a Chinese restaurant? With <a href="https://forktospoon.com/air-fryer-beef-and-broccoli/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">this recipe</a>, you can emulate the perfect beef and broccoli in the comfort of your own home. The sauce is really the star of the show. Make sure you get all of the ingredients and follow the instructions carefully.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="683" src="https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/jezebel-rose-5Oza8PhePew-unsplashSIZED-1024x683.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-33486" srcset="https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/jezebel-rose-5Oza8PhePew-unsplashSIZED-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/jezebel-rose-5Oza8PhePew-unsplashSIZED-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/jezebel-rose-5Oza8PhePew-unsplashSIZED-768x513.jpg 768w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/jezebel-rose-5Oza8PhePew-unsplashSIZED-1536x1025.jpg 1536w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/jezebel-rose-5Oza8PhePew-unsplashSIZED.jpg 1846w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">Photo by <a href="https://unsplash.com/@jezebelrose" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener sponsored nofollow">Jezebel Rose</a> on <a href="https://unsplash.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener sponsored nofollow">Unsplash</a>.</figcaption></figure>

<p>This recipe uses an air fryer, a pot (or instant pot), and a pan, so there is a bit of washing up to do afterwards. But don’t let the ingredient list or washing up stop you – this meal will be a hit with your family.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Air fryer doughnuts</h2>

<p>After eating all of those amazing air fryer meals, you might be craving some dessert. But instead of reaching for store-bought sweets, you could try out this <a href="https://platedcravings.com/air-fryer-donuts/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">air fryer doughnut recipe</a>!</p>

<p>What’s great about homemade doughnuts is that you know exactly what is in them. This means you can adjust the sweetness level to your liking. You can top your doughnuts with whatever you like, but this recipe uses a vanilla glaze – a certified classic.</p>

<p>The possibilities with air fryers are endless, and with these recipes, you can treat your friends and family to a number of flavourful feasts.</p>

<p><strong>Struggling to fall asleep when you hit the hay? Here are some unusual tips you might not have ever heard of, according to research by <a href="https://tx.bz-mail-us1.com/1/l/862975533d81475bab025b2c606884d4?rl=https%3A%2F%2Fcomfybedss.co.uk%2Fcollections%2Fbeds" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Comfybedss</a>.</strong></p>

<div style="height:30px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<p>New research shows that the world is finding it harder and harder to fall asleep, with searches at its highest ever. With an 809% increase in worldwide searches for &#8216;how to fall asleep&#8217; –&nbsp;that’s an average of 135,000 searches a month –&nbsp;now’s the time to think about how you can quickly drift off into a peaceful slumber. Working with Comfybedss, Sleep Doctor, Dr Deborah Lee, has the following advice.</p>

<div style="height:30px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Breathe only through one nostril</h2>

<p>“If you lie on your side and breathe only through your left nostril, it may help you drift off a little bit faster. By covering your right nostril with your finger, this could help lower your blood pressure. This then calms your body ready for bedtime. It should start making you feel a bit dozier.”</p>

<div style="height:30px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Tell yourself to stay awake</h2>

<p>“This is reverse psychology at its finest. By telling yourself to sleep constantly, it’ll drive stress and anger around the fact that you’re not falling asleep. However, by doing the complete opposite, and telling yourself to stay awake, it’ll help you drift off a bit quicker.&nbsp;Just keep repeating the phrase in your head ‘do not fall asleep’. Eventually, your eye muscles will tire out, and you’ll be asleep before you know it!”</p>

<div style="height:30px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Tense your toes</h2>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/2-12-1024x576.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-39719" srcset="https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/2-12-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/2-12-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/2-12-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/2-12-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/2-12-390x220.jpg 390w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/2-12.jpg 2000w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>“Another weird one, but something I’ve recommended to clients, is tensing their toes for 10 seconds. Tense, and then relax your toes for another 10 seconds. Keep doing this until you start to feel tired. This will help you draw tension away from the rest of the body.”</p>

<div style="height:30px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">The 4-7-8 breathing method</h2>

<p>“Put your teeth to the roof of your mouth and exhale out of your mouth. You might find a weird noise comes out, but it&#8217;s part of the process. Once you’ve done this, close your mouth and inhale through your nose for four seconds. Then, hold your breath for seven seconds. Once you’ve gotten the four and seven out of the way, we’re onto eight. Exhale through your mouth for eight seconds and keep repeating this until you’re fast asleep.”</p>

<div style="height:30px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Take yourself through your day</h2>

<p>“Take yourself through the day, but not just in any order – in reverse! Keep it detailed, reminding yourself what you had for breakfast, lunch and dinner, what you did at work, and what music you listened to on your commute. Start from what you watched on TV before bed, and go back through the day, taking yourself right back to when you first woke up. This will keep your mind occupied, not letting you think of something that might be the reason that you’re keeping up.”</p>

<p>And off to the land of Nod you go…</p>

<p><strong>Planning a summer vacation, long weekend break or even an overnight stay away? Be sure to keep your home safe and secure with advice from smart security brand, <a href="https://www.toucansolution.co.uk" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Toucan Smart Home</a>.</strong></p>

<p>With longer days, warmer evenings, and holidays in full swing, summer is one of the most enjoyable times of year. But it’s also a period when home security risks increase, as empty properties and more outdoor activity can attract opportunistic criminals. Recent figures highlight the scale of the issue. There were around 180,000+ residential burglaries across England and Wales alone last year. That works out at roughly one every three minutes.  Seasonal trends remain consistent, too. July and August continue to see a spike in break-ins, often linked to homes left unattended during holidays. So what can you do to stay protected without overcomplicating things? Sara Best, Toucan Smart Home&#8217;s Sales and Marketing Director, shares her expert advice.</p>

<div style="height:30px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Make your home look occupied</h2>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/6-9-1024x576.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-39707" srcset="https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/6-9-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/6-9-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/6-9-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/6-9-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/6-9-390x220.jpg 390w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/6-9.jpg 2000w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>A home that appears empty is far more likely to be targeted. “Simple habits can go a long way. Use timers on lights, leave a radio playing, or ask a neighbour to move bins or collect post.” Smart plugs and lighting systems are a low-effort way to automate this, creating the impression that someone is home even when you’re away.</p>

<div style="height:30px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Don’t overlook the basics</h2>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/3-11-1024x576.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-39708" srcset="https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/3-11-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/3-11-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/3-11-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/3-11-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/3-11-390x220.jpg 390w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/3-11.jpg 2000w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>A large proportion of burglaries still involve unlocked entry points, so get in the habit of running through a checklist before heading out. Lock all doors and windows (including upstairs), secure garden gates and side access, and remove keys from visible areas. “Burglars try the easiest option first – a locked door can be enough to make them move on.” Upgrading to anti-snap locks and reinforcing potential entry points with video doorbells and cameras also provide an extra layer of protection.</p>

<div style="height:30px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Build a stronger neighbourhood network</h2>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/2-11-1024x576.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-39709" srcset="https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/2-11-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/2-11-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/2-11-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/2-11-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/2-11-390x220.jpg 390w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/2-11.jpg 2000w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>Summer is the perfect time to strengthen local connections, which can play a big role in home security. “Communities that look out for each other tend to be much safer. Whether it’s joining a Neighbourhood Watch group, creating a WhatsApp chat, or simply exchanging numbers, having extra eyes on your street can make a real difference.” Even small actions, such as taking in parcels, or keeping an eye on unusual activity, can help prevent issues before they escalate.</p>

<div style="height:30px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Don’t be a social over-sharer</h2>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/5-7-1024x576.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-39710" srcset="https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/5-7-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/5-7-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/5-7-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/5-7-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/5-7-390x220.jpg 390w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/5-7.jpg 2000w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>It’s tempting to post holiday snaps in real time, but doing so can unintentionally signal that your home is empty. Instead share photos after you return, avoid posting travel dates publicly, and check privacy settings on your accounts. “Social media can be an unexpected risk factor. A little caution really does go a long way.”</p>

<div style="height:30px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Secure your outdoor spaces</h2>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/4-8-1024x576.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-39711" srcset="https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/4-8-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/4-8-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/4-8-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/4-8-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/4-8-390x220.jpg 390w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/4-8.jpg 2000w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>Gardens, sheds and garages are often overlooked, but can provide easy access to tools and even your home itself. Make sure to lock away bikes, tools and ladders, secure sheds with strong locks, and keep fences and gates in good condition. “Items left outside can sometimes be used to gain entry, so it’s all about reducing opportunities for thieves wherever possible.”</p>

<div style="height:30px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Final thoughts</h2>

<p>Protecting your home doesn’t have to be complicated. By combining simple habits with smart technology – especially tools that don’t lock you into ongoing fees – you can significantly reduce your risk. The goal is to make your home a harder target while giving yourself complete peace of mind. With the right setup, you can leave your home knowing everything is under control.</p>

<p><strong>Putting your thoughts to paper is a powerful way to bolster positivity, work through worries and improve your happiness quota.</strong></p>

<div style="height:30px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<p>Journalling – the act of writing down our thoughts – is a therapeutic activity we could all benefit from. Whether you record your day in your diary. Perhaps brain dump everything you’re thinking of. You can also zone into a stream of consciousness with morning pages. Why? Because the positives are well-documented.&nbsp;</p>

<p>And it doesn’t have to be difficult or a big thing. It can be as easy as jotting down what’s in your head whenever you feel the need. Keep a notebook specifically for your writing. Or instead use separate sheets of paper to record your thoughts. You can even burn or shred them afterwards if you’re concerned about somebody else reading them.Type into your phone or laptop if you prefer. It’s the process that matters.</p>

<div style="height:30px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Different forms of journalling</h2>

<p>Many of us will remember keeping a diary when growing up. We may well still do so. The act of writing down what’s happened during any given day is an ideal way to record your life over the years. I know when I re-read old diaries I’m immediately transported back to the past. With all of the same feelings conjuring up special and emotional moments. From recording my first kiss at 16 with the boy I’d had a crush on for months, through my time as a mother’s help in Italy after my A levels, to being pregnant with my beloved daughter. All the important times of my life are there to relive whenever I want to. And that’s both good and bad.</p>

<div style="height:30px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Morning pages</h2>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/2-9-1024x576.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-39692" srcset="https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/2-9-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/2-9-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/2-9-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/2-9-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/2-9-390x220.jpg 390w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/2-9.jpg 2000w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>Keeping a daily diary can become a chore, however – and that’s a surefire way to drop the writing habit. One alternative is morning pages. Developed by creativity guru and author,&nbsp;<a href="https://juliacameronlive.com/">Julia Cameron</a>, in her book,&nbsp;<em>The Artist’s Way,</em>&nbsp;this entails writing three pages in longhand about anything or nothing every morning when you first get out of bed. Before you’ve had time to start censoring and structuring your thoughts. Just start writing and let your pen be guided by whatever comes into your head, following whatever tangent arises. Do not read as you go and do not correct your writing. It is whatever spills from your brain through your fingers and on to the page. This is a great way to start the day, as you end the session with a clear focus to carry forward into your morning. That’s because all thoughts from your head are now out there on the paper.</p>

<div style="height:30px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Practising gratitude</h2>

<p>Researchers have shown that appreciating what we have makes us happier. In the study <a href="https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC10393216/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The effects of gratitude interventions: a systematic review and meta-analysis</a>, they found “patients who underwent gratitude interventions experienced greater feelings of gratitude, better mental health, and fewer symptoms of anxiety and depression. Moreover, they experienced other benefits such as a more positive mood and emotions”. A gratitude journal is one way to do this. At the end of every day write down five things you are grateful for. If you don’t want to keep a written journal, then keep a mental version, again thinking of five things that happened during the day you’re grateful for. “When expressing gratitude, people avoid pessimism, unhappiness, complaints of malaise and pain, toxic emotions such as anger, hurt, and fear, feelings of loneliness, isolation, and lack of engagement,” said the researchers. “A grateful individual focuses on positive practices of solidarity and attention to others, and gains a sense of well-being in return.”</p>

<div style="height:30px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Just start simple</h2>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/3-9-1024x576.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-39693" srcset="https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/3-9-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/3-9-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/3-9-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/3-9-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/3-9-390x220.jpg 390w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/3-9.jpg 2000w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>Journalling doesn’t have to be complicated and there’s no need to overthink it.&nbsp;“One of the most effective ways to begin is by setting a very low threshold. This might be writing for just a few minutes a day or responding to a simple prompt such as ‘What stood out to me today’,”&nbsp;says&nbsp;Christine Schneider, clinical psychologist and psychotherapist at&nbsp;<a href="https://www.cambridgetherapycentre.co.uk/">Cambridge Therapy Centre</a>.&nbsp;“Some people find it helpful to anchor journalling to an existing habit, such as doing it alongside a morning coffee or before going to bed. You could also keep your journal on your pillow so it acts as a reminder before you go to bed. The key here is consistency rather than volume.”</p>

<div style="height:30px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">The benefits of journalling</h2>

<p>It’s a form of self-care that brings clarity and calm. If you have trouble disentangling thoughts, emotions and interpretations of events, it can add logic and awareness. It helps you understand what’s happening and situations you’ve found yourself in. “Journalling supports self-care because it enables you to write down your thoughts and feelings,” explains psychologist&nbsp;<a href="https://www.najmazaman.com/">Najma Zaman</a>. “Sometimes people need to get things out of their heads, and writing them down is a great way to do this. It can also help to see things more objectively, which can be beneficial. People can find that as they’re writing, more emotions and thoughts come out which they were not previously aware of. There can be a flow once someone starts writing. Journalling can help alleviate feelings of overwhelm, help one de-stress and generally help a person to slow down. “It can improve sleep because it acts as a wind-down routine that offloads unfinished thoughts before bed.”</p>

<p>Overall, journalling brings many benefits. And if&nbsp;writing’s not your vibe, don’t worry, you can still savour the emotional advantages. Simply use the voice app on your phone to record your thoughts and feelings. Writing isn’t for everyone, but the positives of journalling can be.</p>

<p><strong>Unsure on travel insurance? You&#8217;re not alone. Read on for advice based on real life customer enquiries, cultural shifts and trends, courtesy of travel insurer, <a href="http://www.coverforyou.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">CoverForYou</a>.</strong></p>

<div style="height:30px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">If I keep quiet about a medical condition it won’t cost as much</h2>

<p>Wrong: keeping quiet is often the major mistake travellers make when buying travel insurance. It’s really important that all pre-existing medical conditions are declared when you’re purchasing insurance. If you don’t, your entire policy could be invalid or cancelled, any claims rejected, or not paid in full.  Declare or beware!</p>

<div style="height:30px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Buying travel insurance can go at the bottom of my ‘to do’ list</h2>

<p>Don&#8217;t do this: buy it at the same time as booking your trip. You’ll be covered for things that go wrong before you even board a plane, train or ship. You could get ill and no longer being able to travel. Someone you’re travelling with is ill so you would rather not go alone; or your trip gets cancelled, amongst others. Consider buying an annual multi-trip policy. That way you’re covered for as many trips as you’re planning to take in a year without having to sign up each time. It can sometimes work out cheaper, too.</p>

<div style="height:30px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">I’ll just buy the cheapest cover</h2>

<p>Don’t just be driven by price. Instead make sure the policy covers what you need. Why? It could end up saving you thousands in the long run! Think about what you’re likely to be doing on your trip and who you’re travelling with, to make sure you’re properly covered. Remember: cutting corners to save a few pounds is never a good option. Medical costs can be extortionate, especially if you’re heading to the US.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/2-8-1024x576.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-39679" srcset="https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/2-8-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/2-8-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/2-8-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/2-8-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/2-8-390x220.jpg 390w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/2-8.jpg 2000w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Discounted travel insurance means I’ll save money</h2>

<p>Discounts aren’t always what they seem. To get the best value, make sure the discount applies to the entire policy. That includes costs to cover pre-existing medical conditions, or add-ons like trip disruption cover – and not just the basic policy. If the discount only applies to the basic and you’re paying full price on the extras you need, chances are the discount shrinks to pretty much none at all. Shop around and read the fine print, to make sure that 20% discount really is a 20% saving on your wallet.</p>

<div style="height:30px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">All the gadgets I take are covered by my policy</h2>

<p>Packing your phone, iPad, laptop and headphones is second nature to most. But many travel insurance policies don’t include cover for gadgets as standard. If your gadgets aren’t insured elsewhere, you’ll often need to add this as optional cover. Almost all policies limit cover for high value pieces such as engagement rings, usually around the region of £100 to £250 per item, or per insured.</p>

<div style="height:30px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">How does the Iran war affect my travel insurance?</h2>

<p>&#8220;We expect to see the cost of travel insurance rising, especially for travel outside Europe,&#8221; says CoverForYou Managing Director Alan Dean. &#8220;This is due to a greater risk you&#8217;ll need to claim for cancelling your flight, and increased costs when you do, along with an increased likelihood of delayed flights and curtailed trips.</p>

<p>&#8220;In the short term, we&#8217;re also seeing reduced availability of cover for destinations that rely heavily on flights routing via the Middle East. This could change while talks take place over the next few weeks, and, if an end to the war is agreed, flights to this region could return to normal. It’s very hard to predict at this early stage, so erring on the side of caution is strongly advised.</p>

<p>&#8220;Given this, we expect the cost of travel insurance to also increase because of higher cancellation risk (changes in FCDO advice) and cost (we expect to see the cost of holidays increase) and in trip disruption (an increase in delayed flights and trip curtailment costs).”</p>

<div style="height:30px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Reader offer!</h2>

<p>CoverForYou are offering an exclusive 20% discount code for Checklist readers on their travel insurance with the code <strong>VDM6BLVYZ3</strong>. Valid until 31 August 2026, it covers annual multi-trip or single-trip policies. These must be purchased directly from the CoverForYou website and cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer.</p>

<p><strong>Didn&#8217;t know hay fever in dogs was really a thing? In fact, around one in 10 are said to suffer. Here’s what to look out for to see if this could be what they&#8217;re experiencing.</strong></p>

<div style="height:30px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<p>Hay fever season is a blight for many, with <a href="https://www.gov.uk/guidance/hay-fever-and-airborne-allergens?utm_source=chatgpt.com">one in four</a> struck down with it every year. But hay fever can also target our beloved pets – but not in the way you might expect.</p>

<div style="height:30px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<p>Working with <a href="https://www.petgevity.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">pet insurance brand Petgevity,</a> Dr Emma Chandley, a vet with over 13 years of experience, reveals the symptoms. “A dog’s hay fever is usually due to an allergic response to environmental triggers like pollen. Unlike people, they don’t tend to show csneezing and watery eyes as their main signs. Instead, symptoms are often skin-related, and can be subtle at first. Because the changes can be gradual and seasonal, it&#8217;s easy to miss patterns until the signs become more persistent.”</p>

<div style="height:30px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">What are the symptoms?</h2>

<p>Look out for increased licking of paws, mild redness between paws, rubbing their face along furniture, and recurrent ear irritation. “Complete prevention is rarely possible because pollen exposure can’t be eliminated entirely. Management usually involves reducing allergen contact and controlling the immune response. Practical steps include wiping paws and underbellies after walks, rinsing off visible pollen during peak seasons, and washing bedding frequently. Avoiding freshly-cut grass and walks during very high pollen counts may also help.”</p>

<div style="height:30px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<p>“You should also focus on reducing the itchiness and protecting the skin barrier to keep your dog comfortable during a flare up. Regular bathing with a veterinary-recommended shampoo can help remove allergens from the coat and calm skin. Omega-3 supplementation may also help over time. For dogs prone to ear flare-ups, regular checks and early treatment at the first sign of redness can prevent more painful infections from developing.”</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Untitled-design-6-1024x576.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-39670" srcset="https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Untitled-design-6-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Untitled-design-6-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Untitled-design-6-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Untitled-design-6-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Untitled-design-6-390x220.jpg 390w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Untitled-design-6.jpg 2000w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<div style="height:30px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">What medicine works?</h2>

<p>“Antihistamines can be used in dogs, but their effectiveness is variable and generally mild,” continues Emma. “It’s not advised to use over-the-counter products without veterinary guidance, as dosing differs from humans and combination products can be unsafe. For dogs with moderate to severe symptoms, prescription medication may be required. In some cases, allergen-specific immunotherapy is considered, particularly when symptoms are long-standing.”</p>

<div style="height:30px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<p>Then there’s the surprising long-term after-effects that can arise. “Ongoing allergic inflammation can lead to secondary complications, while repeated scratching and chewing damages skin and increases the risk of bacterial and yeast infections. These infections can then become recurrent and more difficult to control over time. Chronic ear inflammation may also lead to thickening of the ear canals and long-term structural changes, if not treated appropriately. And bear in mind that persistent discomfort also affects a dog’s behaviour and overall quality of life, with them possibly becoming restless or withdrawn.”</p>

<div style="height:30px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">What else should be considered?</h2>

<p>Think of the impact hay fever has on dogs with pre-existing conditions. “Those with chronic ear disease can suffer more because allergic inflammation often targets the ears. Usually, it is underlying immune sensitivity and skin health that influences how strongly a dog reacts. But don’t automatically think a dog’s change in behaviour or new ailment they develop is hay fever, as it could be a parasitic or infectious causes, which need to be ruled out by a vet.” </p>

<p>So the next time you complain of itchy eyes or a runny, just remember your dog could be suffering, too.</p>

<p><strong>Ready to destress, relax and have fun on a half-term family break? It&#8217;s time to get them off their gadgets and head to one of these UK destinations.</strong></p>

<div style="height:30px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<p>May half-term is not far off and it’s a great week for getting away from the pressures of work and school. And, unlike Easter, when you can’t count on the weather, the end of May is a bet for warmth and sunshine. As it’s the perfect time for a trip so to get you in the mood, we’ve rounded up a few UK family attractions and suggestions of where to stay.</p>

<div style="height:30px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Northumberland</h2>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/2-6-1024x576.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-39636" srcset="https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/2-6-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/2-6-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/2-6-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/2-6-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/2-6-390x220.jpg 390w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/2-6.jpg 2000w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>They know a thing or two about castles in Northumberland, and the <a href="https://www.bamburghcastle.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">castle at Bamburgh</a> is out of this world. Explore the battlements and wander through the King’s Hall. Next, marvel at the craftsmanship that went into creating a building as beautiful and imposing as this.</p>

<p>Afterwards, head down to the beach and paddle in the rock pools. You may even be lucky enough to see dolphins cavorting along the coast.</p>

<p>Nearby places to visit include <a href="https://www.visitnorthumberland.com/explore/destinations/islands/holy-island" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Holy Island</a>, <a href="https://www.visitnorthumberland.com/explore/destinations/towns-villages/seahouses" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Seahouses</a> (great for fish and chips) and the <a href="https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/visit/north-east/farne-islands" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Farne Islands</a>, where seals and puffins bask in the sun.</p>

<p><strong>Not only is it the nation’s favourite beverage, but it’s a powerful beauty ally, too, as these tea-infused skincare and cosmetic musts reveal.</strong></p>

<p>As one of the world’s most popular drinks, tea has offered regular respite to workers for years and is a staple in UK kitchens. However, it’s not just for drinking.&nbsp;That&#8217;s right – those little green, black and white leaves are full of beneficial compounds that have both health and beauty benefits.</p>

<p>Take catechins, a type of polyphenol for instance. They’re found in green, white and black tea, and work to reduce inflammation, lower blood pressure, feed good bacteria in the gut ,and improve mental clarity.</p>

<p>When used in beauty these same compounds are potent antioxidants, providing protection against free radicals from pollution and the sun. They also help keep the skin barrier healthy, reduce puffiness and help guard against fine lines and wrinkles. Read on to discover more about <em>beau-tea</em> and our current favourite products for skin, hair and body.</p>

<div style="height:30px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><a href="https://www.greenpeople.co.uk/products/scent-free-sun-cream-spf30-200ml" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Green People Scent Free Sun Cream SPF30</a>,&nbsp;£23</h2>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1000" height="1000" src="https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/2-5.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-39622" srcset="https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/2-5.jpg 1000w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/2-5-300x300.jpg 300w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/2-5-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/2-5-768x768.jpg 768w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px" /></figure>

<p>Sunscreen is one of those products we know we should use every day, but how many of us do? With the onset of sunnier days, now’s a good time to start – and this cream is a nourishing way to do so. It’s full of organic ingredients, including green tea (which is anti-ageing and protects against skin damage from UV rays), aloe vera (soothing), antioxidant edelweiss and moisturising cocoa butter. What’s more, it doesn’t leave a white cast and it’s reef-safe.</p>

<div style="height:30px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><a href="https://www.qandaskin.com/products/caffeine-eye-serum?variant=17793357840435" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Q&amp;A Caffeine Eye Serum</a>,&nbsp;£6.95</h2>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1000" height="1000" src="https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/3-7.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-39620" srcset="https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/3-7.jpg 1000w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/3-7-300x300.jpg 300w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/3-7-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/3-7-768x768.jpg 768w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px" /></figure>

<p>Fade dark circles with this toning eye serum. It contains green tea extract (which has a powerful antioxidant effect, reducing lines and puffiness under the eyes) and caffeine (to help get rid of fluid retention and lighten dark circles). There’s also antioxidant pomegranate extract for good measure. Simply apply a little under your eyes every morning – it’s not sticky and sinks in quickly – then you’re good to go!</p>

<div style="height:30px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><a href="https://www.boots.com/-10380948" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Weleda Slow Aging Astaxanthin Face Serum Drops</a>,&nbsp;£12.95</h2>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1000" height="1000" src="https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/4-4.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-39619" srcset="https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/4-4.jpg 1000w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/4-4-300x300.jpg 300w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/4-4-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/4-4-768x768.jpg 768w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px" /></figure>

<p>Add these drops to your regular moisturiser or use them alone as an extra defence against pollution and free radicals. They contain white tea extract, which contains even more polyphenols than green tea as it’s less processed, giving you the same beneficial effects but more so. White tea is anti-inflammatory, reduces redness and soothes the skin. It’s also anti-ageing, helping prevent collagen and elastin loss, so reducing the look of fine lines.&nbsp;</p>

<div style="height:30px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><a href="https://spaceylon.co.uk/products/white-jasmine-day-hydrating-serum-50ml" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Spa Ceylon White Jasmine Day Hydrating Serum</a>,&nbsp;£35</h2>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1000" height="1000" src="https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/5-4.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-39618" srcset="https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/5-4.jpg 1000w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/5-4-300x300.jpg 300w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/5-4-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/5-4-768x768.jpg 768w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px" /></figure>

<p>Green tea is just one of the nourishing ingredients in this serum, which also contains jasmine oil to tone and brighten, witch hazel for freshness and aloe vera for its soothing and cooling properties. The tea not only works to reduce inflammation and protect against environmental damage, but along with liquorice, bearberry and watercress it helps prevent hyperpigmentation and reduces the appearance of dark spots. Apply after cleansing and before moisturising.</p>

<div style="height:30px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><a href="https://www.nanogen.com/products/nanogen-shampoo-luxe-for-women" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Nanogen Shampoo Luxe</a>,&nbsp;£10.95</h2>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1000" height="1000" src="https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/6-6.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-39617" srcset="https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/6-6.jpg 1000w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/6-6-300x300.jpg 300w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/6-6-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/6-6-768x768.jpg 768w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px" /></figure>

<p>The green tea in this shampoo works its antioxidant wonder on your head and hair. This is one of the few shampoos that doesn’t irritate my itchy scalp (yet another menopause symptom I wasn’t prepared for) and I do wonder if that’s thanks to the tea. It also leaves my hair feeling soft and lightweight almost, without looking thin. Other ingredients include keratin to strengthen hair and beta glucan, which hydrates and soothes.</p>

<div style="height:30px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><a href="https://www.philipkingsley.co.uk/flaky-itchy-scalp-mask-2-x-20ml.html" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Philip Kingsley Flaky/Itchy Scalp Mask</a>,&nbsp;£22</h2>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1000" height="1000" src="https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Untitled-design-7.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-39682" srcset="https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Untitled-design-7.jpg 1000w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Untitled-design-7-300x300.jpg 300w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Untitled-design-7-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.checklists.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Untitled-design-7-768x768.jpg 768w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px" /></figure>

<p>Whether you have the occasional dry patch or you’re plagued by a sensitive scalp, this mask can take away the itch. It contains green tea, which not only protects against environmental damage, thanks to its potent antioxidants, but it also soothes and reduces inflammation, while salicylic acid exfoliates away dead skin cells. Use once a week and apply to damp scalp before shampooing. You’ll need to use a full tube each time.</p>

<div style="height:30px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><a href="https://www.spacenk.com/uk/makeup/cheeks/blusher/tea-to-tan-lip-cheek-MUK200063288.html" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">By Terry Tea to Tan Lip &amp; Cheek</a>,&nbsp;£26</h2>

<p>The latest launch by luxury beauty brand By Terry brings tea to your daily make-up! It’s Tea to Tan Lip &amp; Cheek combines colour with skincare benefits in a light, tinted serum. Ingredients include black tea for its powerful antioxidant properties, red tea to smooth and refresh, and bio-active cherry blossom extract for anti-ageing. The result is buildable colour that hydrates your skin at the same time for up to 24 hours.</p>

<p>Tea has a refreshing, somewhat sharp aroma that brings a unique quality to this fragrance. Coupled with the citrussy perfume of bergamot and the smoky smell of birch tar, the effect is a heady brew that’s uplifting and fresh. And it lasts. Top notes of bergamot, petitgrain and lemon give way to heart notes of Earl Grey, green tea, mate and nutmeg on a base of musk and birch tar. Gorgeous.</p>

<p>The freshness of white tea is put to good use in this body butter and combines well with the floral sweetness of elderflower. It’s the kind of uplifting fragrance that’s perfect for spring and early summer, bringing scents of cucumber and citrus to join the party then melting into a base of musk and cedarwood. The combination of shea and cocoa butters makes for a rich, moisturising cream that soothes dryness and is a treat to use.</p>
