If you’re not in our air fryers gang then you’re missing out – or we think so at least. Here are some airfryers on the UK market to check out.

Air fryers have become the small appliance success of recent years and there’s not many kitchens that don’t have one. They are now the third most used cooking appliance across the UK and it’s estimated that more than 60% of households own this handy machine.

For those of us already on board, the facts come as no surprise. Air fryers are less expensive to run and quicker to cook with than a conventional oven. There’s also a range of sizes available so whether you’re cooking for one or a family, you’ll find one to suit.

Of course, they’re smaller than an oven, so for large meals the oven will win. But for quick dinners you’d be hard pressed to beat an air fryer. And because they use little or no oil in cooking, they’re healthier.

Here’s our pick of the best air fryers available to suit a range of family sizes.

Cosori Dual Blaze Twinfry 10L Smart Air Fryer, £239.99

You can fit an awful lot of frozen chips in this air fryer, but it does so much more than that. It’s versatile – use just one section, use both, or use the entire cooking compartment. This grandzone is big enough to cook a large chicken, which I found came out better than when cooked in my oven. There’s four separate elements and Cosori says they cook up to 65% faster than a traditional oven. There’s also six pre-sets: air fry, roast, bake, grill, reheat and dry. The sync and match functions means everything is ready together – and you can connect to the VeSync app to control the fryer, as well as for tips and recipes.

Salter VertiCook View Air Fryer 9L, £99.99

With this air fryer you get two stacked drawers, so you only need a footprint for one on your worktop. Each drawer holds up to 4.5 L, so that’s 9L in total. That’s large enough for a family of four to six. There’s 12 presets, including fries, steak, fish, bake and pizza, and sync and match settings. As someone who finds it difficult to cook so everything’s done at the same time, this is a godsend. I also love how I can see the food through the viewing windows, so I don’t need to open the drawers to check so often. You can also cook food on two levels in each drawer. Just make sure to cook whatever you want crispy on top though, with veg on the bottom.

Daewoo 9L XL Digital Double Drawer Air Fryer, £79.99

The touch display on this air fryer is logical and simple to use. Press to switch on, choose left or right drawer (or both), select your functions, adjust the temperature and time, and off you go. It’s large enough for a hungry family and there’s eight presets to choose, including fries, fish, bake, roast and dehydrate. And of course, you’ll find the all-important sync function, so whatever you’re cooking in each drawer is ready at the same time. There’s a handy beep to remind you to shake the drawers so food browns evenly, and for fries fans, each drawer can hold up to 1kg of chips. The baskets are substantial, but I love that they’re not heavy, which makes serving up food easier. I can tip the contents on to plates without having to faff around with tongs or serving spoons. Delicious!

Tefal Easy Fry Pizza FW4018G0 Air Fryer 4.5L, £99.99

If there’s one thing that air fryers generally lack, it’s the ability to cook pizza. They’re just not built to accommodate a large circle of dough. Yes you can cut it into pieces then cook it, but it’s just not the same. So that’s where this air fryer excels. It’s been designed specifically with pizza lovers in mind and can hold a medium base up to 27cm. What’s more, the viewing window means you can crisp it to the perfect finish for you. As well as settings for both fresh and frozen pizza, there’s also presets for chips, chicken, fish, veg, bake and dehydrate. You can also sign up to the app for further inspiration and recipes. The air fryer has a max capacity of 4.5L, so not as big as others, but if pizza is your preferred food then this is for you.

Vonhaus Vonshef Fika Black & Wood 6L Air Fryer, £64.99

Not everybody lives in a large household so not everybody wants a huge air fryer. This version from Vonhaus is generous, with a 6L capacity, but not overwhelming when there’s just one or two to feed. Its compact size doesn’t take up much room on the worktop, yet it still incorporates all those must-have buttons. There’s pre-sets for popular foods, such as fries, chicken and fish, not to mention bake, reheat, broil, dehydrate, roast and keep warm functions. The touch screen is easy to use, while the matte black finish with wood-style handle adds a designer touch to a practical appliance. And if you want to coordinate your kitchen, there’s a range of other Fika items available, including a kettle, toaster and microwave.

Fritaire Self Cleaning Glass Air Fryer, £179

It’s rare to see an air fryer in anything but black, grey, silver and occasionally white, so the Fritaire fryer certainly brightened my day. This vibrant pop of beauty has a retro vibe and comes in teal, orange, cherry red, lily white and yes, black, to make a feature in your kitchen. Don’t go thinking it’s all style with no substance though. The appliance delivers and has something of a cult fan following. Cook on the wire stand, choose the rotisserie for chicken, or the rotating cage for evenly done chips without shaking. You can watch the cooking process through the glass bowl, and when you’re finished simply fill with soapy water and let the machine clean itself. It’s PFAS, teflon and BPA-free, has a 4.7L capacity and has six functions: meat, chicken, fries, fish, dehydrate – and it even makes toasties!

Cuisinart Tri Zone 13.6L Air Fryer & Oven, £199

Get the best of all worlds with this triple drawer air fryer. Not only can you cook a meal in the top two baskets, each of which holds up to 4.3L, but you can use the full-width bottom drawer for larger items such as pizzas. Each of the baskets can air fry, grill, bake, roast, dehydrate and reheat, while the large bottom section has pizza, toast and manual settings. You can also keep an eye on progress through the viewing windows in the baskets, and there’s sync and match functions, so you can time your meal to perfection. Each cooking zone works independently of the others so you can use as little or as much of the space as you need.

And off you (air) fry!

Want to know how to update your home with the latest in design? Look no further with advice from Wren’s kitchen expert David Balko.

Statement splash backs and accent tiles

Homeowners are choosing patterned splashbacks, elongated metro tiles, and geometric motifs. This trend has also matured with earthy colours: think warm mushroom, muted greens, and natural stone worktops. “People want a focal point, but not chaos,” says David. “Vertical and herringbone tiles create movement without noise, and full-height splashbacks frame a kitchen beautifully. You can also embrace the two-tone trend by pairing different tile shades. Ombre works well in grey, blue, pink or green, or create a striking striped effect with contrasting colours. For a modern twist, colour-block sections of open shelving for interest, bringing your kitchen up to date while keeping it harmonious.”

Art Deco revival

Kitchens are embracing Art Deco through geometric units and metallic finishes. Angular or curved shapes add interest, with gold or brass for a touch of glamour. In bedrooms, it’s expressed through dressing tables and furniture with luxurious textures, warm wood grains, and elegant curved silhouettes. Cognac oak and rich walnut tones are key choices, offering warmth while feeling fresh and modern, and beautiful alongside updated fluted glass and soft gold accents. “Art Deco is appealing because it blends nostalgia with refinement,” continues David. “Gold hardware is overtaking silver, and natural woods are the canvas for Deco warmth. It’s elegant, but very liveable.”

Colour drenching and mood layering

Colour drenching, walls, ceilings, and units in the same tonal family is growing rapidly, such as greens, mushroom, beige, clay, and soft neutrals. Grey kitchens are decreasing, but neutrals still reign supreme. Tone-on-tone designs create sophisticated continuity, important in open-plan layouts where dining and living merge. Bedrooms are also embracing this trend through layered textures: boucle chairs, stone-coloured wardrobes, linen, plush rugs and warm wood accents. “This works because it creates calm,” says David. “People want consistency. The biggest shift we’re seeing is warm neutrals and greens across multiple rooms, not just the kitchen.”

Sociable and flexible spaces

The desire for multifunctional living is now deeply embedded in design, with kitchens sociable hubs for entertaining. This means islands with integrated seating, worktops that double as workstations, and storage solutions that merge seamlessly into living areas. Slim shaker units are requested in city homes, striking a balance ideal for spaces that must perform multiple roles. “The kitchen is the modern living room,” David explains. “Customers want places where cooking, chatting, working, and relaxing happen in the same flow.” Bedrooms, meanwhile, see flexible reading nooks, modular desks, soft seating, and discreet storage to create rooms of relaxation and productivity.

Spliced compositions and bold contrasts

Designers and homeowners alike are moving toward contrast, also known as ‘spliced’. There are many ways to achieve this, from dual-tonal units, mixed wood-and-paint combinations, and islands with contrasting worktops, while in bedrooms the trend includes linen alongside velvet, patterned rugs with sleek furniture, or warm woods paired with muted decorative pieces. “People no longer want uniformity. They want combinations that tell a story, but with the warmth and subtlety we’re seeing dominate 2026. It’s less about maximalism and more about curated contrast.”

Biophilic design and natural textures

This is one of the most influential long-term trends and now evolves beyond statement greenery to embrace material-led wellbeing. Warm timber and wood-effect units, tactile natural finishes, and earthy colour palettes are now becoming dominant choices in both kitchens and bedrooms. Modern fluted glass also supports the mood, offering depth and gentle light diffusion. “People want homes that help them decompress. Linen, rattan, warm woods and soft greens instantly create that restorative feeling. The trend is really about emotional comfort,” says David.

Softened darkness and luxurious cocooning

Search interest in moody interiors continues to soar, but 2026’s dark palette is softer, warmer, and more textural. Deep greens, navy, charcoal, and black tones paired with matte finishes, gold highlights, and warm lighting create inviting rather than dramatic spaces. In kitchens, dark units are softened by natural stone or warm wood accents, while in bedrooms, think rich dark woods such as a black walnut matt finish. Plush textiles, layered throws, and dimmable lighting also create a retreat perfect for year-round sophistication. “Dark spaces have shifted from bold to soothing,” says David. “What people love now is a cocooning feeling: cosy, intimate, and incredibly luxurious.”

Choosing a new kitchen’s daunting, design-wise as well as ensuring you’re left with exactly what you had in mind. But did you know that by planning properly it’ll actually save you money? We caught up with Wren Kitchens’ expert Darren Watts and food writer Erin Clarke for storage hacks and design tips to reduce those eye-watering food bills.

1. How to choose

First is to think about what goes where and why. By planning out dedicated areas for prep, cooking, and storage, you can make everyday tasks far more seamless. Think keeping your hob, sink, and fridge close together, and storing or integrating appliances to free up space and ensure preparation is effortless. “An integrated chopping board, similar to a butcher’s block, is great for batch cooking, which will save you money, but it’s also vital to have enough worktop space for everyday use,” says Darren. “If space is tight, a pull out cook’s table that can be tucked away is another smart solution.”

2. How to organise

A pantry is another great hack when it comes to storing food as well as freeing up valuable fridge space. Freestanding pantries or larder units with ventilated shelving help extend the life of fresh produce, while pull-out towers make it easy to see what you have, avoiding items being forgotten at the back of a shelf. “Onions, garlic, potatoes and dried goods all benefit from a cool, dark storage environment rather than being in the fridge,” says Erin. “Just be sure to keep potatoes separate, as they release moisture that can make onions spoil quicker.” But where exactly should your new pantry go? “Close to the fridge or freezer makes food prep more efficient, but it’s important to keep it away from direct sunlight or ovens to maintain freshness,” continues Darren. “A spice rack on the inside of a pantry door is another great way to free up shelf space.”

3. How to plan ahead

Freezers can act as an extension of your fridge and pantry. If space allows, consider a full-size integrated freezer alongside your fridge, or under counter freezers in a utility room if kitchen space is limited. This makes it easier to keep all your summer produce at its best. “Deep drawer freezers with dividers are brilliant for keeping things organised, and smart fridges with a built in camera means you can see what’s inside at a glance, which is a simple way to cut down on food waste for those with flexibility to spend,” says Darren.

4. How to store

“Fridge drawers with humidity control are perfect for keeping fruit and veg fresh for longer, while a ‘use me soon’ shelf is excellent for food nearing their expiry date,” continues Darren. “Maximising underused cupboard space with adjustable shelving or bespoke pull out racks ensures everything has a home, making it easier to find what you need.” And, when it comes to storing food, a few small tricks make all the difference. “I always keep tomatoes and basil out on the counter, as they taste so much better at room temperature,” says Erin. “Courgette, cucumbers and aubergine last longer in the fridge’s crisper drawer; and, for dried herbs, I pop mine in little glass jars with labels.”

5. How to prevent waste

Keeping your food organised is key, but it goes hand in hand with cutting down on what gets wasted. “A lot of waste happens because we forget what we already have, which is why food storage inserts that fit perfectly within drawers are such a lifesaver, keeping everything visible and organised, so nothing gets lost and thrown away unnecessarily, says Darren. But what about keeping food that you won’t be using over the next few days? “Again, your freezer is your friend,” suggests Erin. “Green beans and sweetcorn taste amazing if you blanch them before freezing, and leafy greens like spinach or basil are perfect for turning into pesto and freezing in little cubes. Even whole tomatoes freeze surprisingly well, so you can enjoy all your favourite flavours long after the season’s over.”

The celebrity chef on cooking, keeping fit and getting the kids in the kitchen.

As self-explanatory as the title is, tell us what your latest cookbook, Outdoor Cooking, is all about…

“Outdoor Cooking is a book for those who love to barbecue and for those who fancy giving outdoor cooking a go. It’s a book full of my favourite recipes to cook with friends and family outside, be it on a beach, around a campfire or simply in your back garden.”

What’s the one recipe everyone should try from the book and why?

“I love all of the recipes, but a particular favourite is the Beef Suya Skewers. It’s a West African-inspired spicy peanut mix that coats the beef and honestly takes it to another level – you have to try it!”

You’ve launched your latest venture in Harrods’ dining hall, Kerridge’s Fish & Chips. Why should we check it out?

“Well, first of all, it’s in Harrods! I remember first going into Harrods when I was a boy, and it was an incredible experience – I’ve never forgotten it. To have a fish and chip shop in the beautiful surroundings of the dining hall is a dream come true. Harrods is such an experience – so much more than a retail space – so I’m delighted to be able to offer the very best fish and chips I can in such a wonderful location.”

What do you say to the tabloid media reports that the prices are ‘eye-watering’?

“It’s funny how people are quick to judge the price of food but don’t necessarily link it back to the very best ingredients – not to mention the wonderful dining space, plus the very best staff and service. It’s not just about the price of ingredients – it’s so much more than that.”

You’ve a fair few restaurants under your belt – six at the latest count! Which one’s your baby and why?

“Yes, I have six restaurants now; The Hand and Flowers, The Butcher’s Tap and Grill and The Coach – all in Marlow. Then I have Kerridge’s Bar & Grill at Corinthia London, The Bull & Bear in Manchester’s Stock Exchange Hotel and Kerridge’s Fish & Chips in Harrods. I also have projects like Pub In The Park and a range of cookbooks and TV work. They are all my babies to be honest, but I guess my firstborn, The Hand and Flowers, will always be special for me. It’s my first business and my wife Beth and I worked so hard to get it off the ground and into the business it is today. We are so proud of its success.”

How do you manage to juggle it all, are you on the go 24/7?

“Yes, I am very much on the go all the time – I don’t sleep very much and I drive everywhere. In a week I could be up in Manchester one day, in Marlow the next and then in London. I spend a lot of time in the kitchens with the teams and I really love being busy!”

What about the mental strains – did staying at home during lockdown have any impact?

“I think lockdown affected people in different ways. For me it was a chance to spend time with my family, take stock of the business and to look at ways to help the local community. We set up Meals From Marlow, where we helped create over 100,000 meals for people in the local area. Out of a very dark situation, there are some really positive, heart-warming moments.”

You kept in shape during lockdown and have become a runner of late. Are you back in the gym, or is running your new exercise these days?

“I am a member of The Marlow Club and it’s also a benefit offered to my pirates too, but it’s been so important to escape mentally and recharge at the gym. I have actually spent a lot of time on weights and my Watt bike recently. It’s great for clearing the head and re-energising.”

Did you gain any Covid kilos or were you able to keep the weight off?

“I probably fluctuated a little over lockdown – who didn’t? I mainly just try to eat a well-balanced diet. I cook a lot with my son, so our kitchen adventures tend to be quite healthy.”

You’re at home, with the night off, but dinner needs making. Is it you or the wife that steps up – and what kind of food is on the menu?

“My wife is a great cook, but I tend to make something really quick and easy – I make a killer omelette! My son Acey is also getting more and more involved and interested in cooking. He even came up on the stage with me at Pub In The Park this summer which was awesome – we made a hotdog together!”

Having a chef dad must mean the pressure’s on for Acey to be anything but a fussy eater. Is that the case?

“Acey eats almost everything. I think the key with kids is to let them have their moments of fussiness without it being a big deal. Sometimes he likes something, sometimes he doesn’t. At the moment he doesn’t like sauce on anything, but I’m sure next month it will be something different!”

You’ve also been busy working with Marcus Rashford to help get young people to cook nutritious meals on a budget. How and why did you get involved?

“Marcus and I met at an event and got chatting. We were both on the same page about trying to help end child poverty. The statistics in the UK of 4.2 million kids going to bed hungry is shameful. We had to help, so we created Full Time Meals – a campaign to raise awareness for the Healthy Start Voucher, and to get kids cooking simple and easy-to-make meals with limited cooking equipment.”

You’ve even got your finger in another pie – your Pirate Ship podcasts with Chris Stark. As Keith Lemon would say, what’s the message?

“Yes, the podcast with Chris has been so much fun! We are looking at another series, but it’s all about eating food. We’ve had some great guests on the show, so I’m excited about what the next series holds – watch this space!”

Will that leave you with any time for a holiday? If so, where will you be heading and why?

“I tend to go skiing over the festive period. I love Courmayeur in Northern Italy because it’s so foodie.”

Finally, please tell us one secret fact no one has ever read about you before…until now.

“I have never seen a single episode of Game of Thrones!”

Fancy yourself as a bit of an epicurean? Here’s how to enjoy the ultimate-at-home dining experience now that staying in’s definitely become the new going out…

Living under one national lockdown after another has been no easy feat. Restaurants swapped for our kitchens or dining rooms has been hard going, however, a plethora of goods and services swiftly became available to ease the path into fending for ourselves.

While the epicureans among you may yearn for Michelin-starred cuisine, it’s easier than you think to recreate a restaurant-style experience in the comfort of your own home. Lockdown or no lockdown, here’s Checklist’s best advice on how to enjoy a fine dining night to remember…

LOOK AT HOW YOU COOK

Has spending more time at home forced you to realise your kitchen is far from looking its best? You’re not alone; 22% of us cite our kitchen as the most popular lockdown renovation project. The focal point of any home, updating your kitchen can be done on all manner of budgets – so don’t feel you need to call in the fitters just yet! Try updating your cupboards with a lick of paint (Classic Blue is the Pantone Colour of the Year, don’t you know), or change the handles for an instant modern feel. Splashbacks, too, can be covered or painted – you can even get a reasonable quote for a new worktop to transform your kitchen’s look. And don’t forget about any white goods aldo past their prime: investing in a swanky new oven, cooker or American-style fridge-freezer could be just what you need to put the passion back in to cooking.

LOOK AT HOW YOU DINE

It’s definitely true that you eat with your eyes – and by that we don’t just mean how you plate up your meal. Look at it this way: your other half has lovingly prepared a three-course feast, which you then eat off your lap on chipped crockery with mismatching cutlery.

With this in mind it’s time to get ruthless, having a clear out of anything ready for the charity shop and investing in some new tableware to ensure your at-home dining experience really is a fine one. Good linen and napkins beat a tablemat and torn-off section of kitchen roll any day, while a complete new dining set is another way to bring that restaurant style into your home. Think about the table and chairs you use to eat on, while it’s even a good idea to fork out (see what we did there) on some good-quality cutlery, as research shows your choices in utensils can actually change how your food tastes!

LOOK AT WHAT YOU EAT & DRINK

The final way to bring the restaurant experience in to the comfort of your own home is to look at the food you’re serving both you and your family. We get it: cooking night in, night out gets repetitive, but rather than calling your local takeaway why not have a rummage around your fridge to see what you can conjure up instead? BBC Food offers hundreds of recipes to get you inspired, or why not join in with the unprecedented demand for door-delivery recipe boxes and order everything you need to make a meal from scratch? Fancy a tipple with your dinner to make the ever-lasting lockdowns seem a little easier-going? Don’t forget to order a subscription or tasting kit from an independent brewery or spirits manufacturer, supporting UK businesses while helping you reduce stress levels in the process.
