To celebrate the completion of Griff Rhys Jones’ 18-year restoration of his Pembrokeshire farm estate, Under the Thatch are giving away a stay in the newly restored 1920s Showman’s Wagon at Trehilyn. The prize is for up to three people staying, for up to four nights this summer or for any available 2023 dates.

Y Wagen is a beautifully restored vintage living van, one of the rather fancy homes that circus masters pulled around the country as their portable ‘palace on wheels’. Griff’s example has come to rest in the most idyllic location on the Pembrokeshire coast, privately located alongside his impeccably conserved holiday cottages, and updated with all the mod cons you need, including a kitchenette, bathroom and comfortable beds. The wagon sits year-round in a large shed, with huge, glazed doors looking out to a private patio.

The property has parking and access to around 75 acres of land with ponds and a children’s play area. Stroll over to Strumble Head Lighthouse to watch dolphins and whales or walk just three miles to gorgeous Abermawr Beach.

There are more Blue Flag beaches in the area than anywhere else in UK. You could also head inland to see a few of the 51 forts and castles in Pembrokeshire, or the gorgeous Preseli Mountains.
