At Projekt 26 they stock original vintage Polish posters alongside a range of limited-edition reprints, printed with permission from the artist or their heirs.

They are very proud to be the only art dealers in the UK to specialise in what is known as the Polish School of Posters – a ground-breaking and unique art movement which emerged from the darkness of post-war Communist rule.

During the 1950s to 1980s, an explosion of bright, bold art sprang up on the bleak war-torn streets. The Ministry of Arts and Culture commissioned Poland’s greatest artists to design posters for the state owned output. Remarkably, the artists struck a deal which gave them creative autonomy over their designs.

Polish posters promoting cultural events, including cinema films, theatre productions and the circus, became symbols of hope – packed with symbolism and meaning.

Today their ground-breaking graphics remain just as powerful and inspiring. They hope, through Projekt 26, to inject some of their irrepressible spirit, colour and joy into the world today.
