Point-to-pointing – amateur horse racing run on over 80 temporary courses across Britain from November to June – is the grassroots of professional horse racing and is the ideal day out for all generations of the family, and their dogs (on a leash).

You can watch the potential stars of the future – jockeys and horses – as well as familiar names from National Hunt racing coming back to their roots, and enjoy a range of other activities, from dog shows to shopping villages.

It offers you the chance to get close to the horses, is open to everyone and encapsulates rural life at its best. Meet up with friends or make new acquaintances, take your own picnic, or choose from a range of food and drink outlets, make your selection from the pick of the paddock and if you fancy a flutter, good luck.
